Former England national team manager Steve McLaren is a favorite to take second-division Leeds United. McLaren may take the place of the dismissal Thomas Christiansen, who started work on the team last summer. The Yorkshire `Whites` are ranked 10th in the Championship with an asset of 44 points, having no victory since December 2017. Leeds`s lean series continued in the Football Association Cup tournament, and in January the team was eliminated by the fourth-division Newport. Gordon Strachan and Simon Grayson are the other candidates for a new Leeds manager.
