The best defensive and offensive players have become known following the results of the regular season of the USFL spring league.
Michigan Panthers defensive end Breeland Speaks was named the best defensive player. In 10 games, he had 9. 5 sacks and led the league in tackles for loss of yards (13).
Speaks was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The defender was on the championship prediction by football betting partners team in the 2019 season, but did not take part in the Super Bowl due to injury and disqualification for using prohibited substances.
After being released from the Chiefs, Speaks tried to get into 5 different NFL clubs, but only received playing time with the Michigan Panthers of the USFL.
St. Louis Battlehawks wide receiver Hakeem Butler was named Offensive Player of the Year. He had 45 receptions for 652 yards with 5 touchdowns.
Butler was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2019 draft but missed his entire rookie season with a hand injury before being cut.
