Former world number seven Mardy Fish has left his post as captain of the US Davis Cup team. According to the USTA, both sides have decided to move in a new direction.
Fish has held the position since January 2019. Under his leadership, the team reached the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup last season.
In November, Fish got into a scandal over advertising bookmakers on social networks. He was also criticized for his squad selection for the November cup matches.
Team USA will play Uzbekistan in Tashkent on February 3-4, but the USTA has not yet selected an acting captain.
