The VAR system used in Premier League will not undergo a major change during the current season, it became clear today. There was a proposal for the Chief Judges to allow them, in disputed situations, to personally review the recording of the monitor position near the line. This is normal practice in other championships, but not in the Island. In the end, though, today - at a special meeting between Chief Justice Mike Ryle and Premier League executives - the idea of change is missing at this stage. However, there is agreement to future revisions to the use of the technology.
West Ham boss David Gold comments that VAR works very well, and he hates the practice of watching the record by the arbitrators near the beat.
At the same time, broadcasts on stadium screens of VAR-modified stadiums will continue to be repeated on TV screens - something that is only available in England so far.
Otherwise, there is now expected to be some correction related to communication between VAR judges in the room and those on the field.
